Money Line Pick
A key Atlantic Division match-up takes to the ice at the Bell Centre, as the Florida Panthers make a trek north to Canada, for a clash with the Canadiens in Montreal. Montreal has battled there way back into a respectable position even though they are currently one-game above .500 on the season. Three wins in their last four games don’t hurt the cause. Meanwhile, for Florida, they have been able to rattle of six-straight wins and have dueled their way into a tie for the third-place spot in the Atlantic. The Panthers and Canadiens have split their last 10 meetings. Florida holds a little bit better record in recent meetings, and that includes two out of the last three. The Panthers escaped in a very tough match-up back in December. It’s probably going to take another gritty effort. Montreal has struggled to defend their home ice, and that is why I like the Panthers to go in there and get a win. Take Florida on the road.
Over Under Pick
Florida and Montreal have been some of the NHL’s top-scoring teams all season. When two teams that have been known to score at least three goals per game square-off some big numbers are bound to shine. That has held true for five-straight head-to-head meetings, as the Panthers and Canadiens have combined for six goals or more in each of those five games. Who can forget the first meeting this season in Florida, as the Panthers escaped with a 6-5 victory? In a match-up that has been notorious for the winning team scoring six goals alone, backing the total to be over 6.5 goals is a must.
