Well, the scrappy little Irishman did it!
Rory McIlroy teed off Thursday at the PGA Tour Championship at Atlanta with a 5 stroke disadvantage to the FedEx Cup points leader Justin Thomas and ended the Last round up 5 strokes ahead of JT and 4 ahead of runner-up Xander Schauffele.
It was a breathtaking performance from McIlroy who obtained quite a bit of flack from members of this media during the entire year for apparently not being the ideal athlete.
He dropped significantly far down the leaderboard and did have a few tournaments in which it seemed that he was potentially in route but faltered.
We always appear to remember the negatives , though.
If you have a look at how many tournaments he competed in (19) and also the quantity of top ten finishes he’d (14), it brings what was his very best season ever clearly into focus.
He’s easily the favorite while we can’t write off him and as you may imagine, I am not likely to go all-in on him.
The trek was created by fellow PGA Tour Championship competitor Tommy Fleetwood and is currently sitting 10 to 1 to get a success.
Right up there together are fellow UK celebrity and back-to-back European Experts defending champion Matthew Fitzpatrick whose current betting odds to win are set at (+800).
Even the Fitzpatrick is but has made his mark not just on the Tour but on the PGA Tour.
He had been runner-up at the Arnold, 21st at The Experts, 20th at the Open Championship, and 12th in the Usa Open in 2019.The Northwestern alum cannot be dismissed in your spread for this weekend. Speaking of betting, BetOnline sportsbook has the odds this week.
Let’s get after it!
The Dane is not in his very best form as of late but the course history is there. A number of the winners here have flown not in all swinging a sexy club but performed well regardless.
Therefore it is not like he’s worn down, he is coming off of a month break.
The time off may have helped him recover from a minor injury or a block.
These are all”maybe’s”. I know, but this man at a playoff Fitzpatrick completing 17 under par for its 72 holes that are scheduled missing out of this tournament played.
Lucas was top ten in 2017. If it were not for his form, I’d think his odds for a top twenty finish could be -115 or more.
Let’s take him to kick off things.
Hero and the face Tommy Fleetwood, of last year’s winning Ryder Cup team is explained in 1 word, astonishing.
He comes through, whenever he is disregarded and when the expectations are put on his shoulders together with his golden locks, the Brit seems to disappoint. Even though he’s the golfer to the betting board supporting Rory and Fitzpatrick, several specialists aren’t giving him much of a opportunity.
That’s okay. When you think about the area of competitors A success is going to be difficult for any golfer here.
He is liked by me at plus money, though, to get a top ten.
He’s unquestionably one of the top 5 maybe not 3 players in this tournament and as I said, loves to surprise us.
He does have three 20s including a couple top 10s to his own name at Crans-sur-Sierre because his debut here in 2012 although he has not been great as of late.
We would be speaking Tommy Fleetwood as the 2019 Open Championship winner if it weren’t for a particular Shane Lowrey. What impressed me even more than that was that his place tie in the St Jude Invitational the following week alongside fellow Brit Fitzpatrick.
I see Tommy coming to his house continent in style this week and showing off his abilities as well as his locks. Okay, here is a good opportunity to come out ahead in all of our bets with one wager. Hend is at the bottom of this odds list this past week. Therefore, why are we picking him?
For starters, he also had been a runner up in 2017 and 2016. He shot Alex Noren, Fitzpatrick and the winners both times. This past year, eh, 45th but brought his chances to where they are today, then I am cool with it.
His form is no bueno however includes a win on the European Tour this past year at the Maybank Championship.
Scott’s long-hitting prowess probably won’t help him this week but he definitely knows the way to play this course so I don’t find anything wrong with throwing 12.50 down to create 100 bucks for just a high twenty.
The 46-year-old is coming off of a few months of rest too.
This young guy has mastered this tournament in the past.
Is he the champ but has a runner up finish here in 2015 along with a T7 at’16. Fitz is also in outstanding form as well.
He completed 1 shot behind the winner last week in the Scandanavian Masters, 4th in St Jude, 20t in The Open and placed 12th at the US Open.
Think about the strain of the potential hat trick becoming into the young guy?
I am not buying it. The presence of this recently crowned FedEx Cup Champion Rory McIlroy will probably pull just enough of the attention off of him thus enabling him to fully focus on the job ahead.
today we have mentioned his name. Give him some dough.
Last week was rather enjoyable!
The beginning strokes method worked out in the event you consider it.
Rahm and Webb Simpson fell to the center of the bunch but Mr minus 10 Justin Thomas didn’t run away with this, along with the top three arguably best golfers of 2019 completed in these positions.
Rory McIlroy was the most striking golfer. He began a few strokes behind and finishing a few before a guy who received far more positive press all year long in Brooks Koepka.
McIlroy will soon be in action this week. Many are writing him off but I do not believe he would have entered this championship when he didn’t have any intention of doing.
The field is thick this week with the players in the Tour obtaining the opportunity to compete at the Summer in Switzerland.I don’t know about you but my Instagram was chocked full of pics and movies of these magnificent Summer arenas.
I’d really like to be in attendance to this one.
Perhaps next year…
If you can tune in after you receive in your bets, or locate a flow online. This is supposed to be a fun one!
