Money Line Pick
BB&T Center hosts another top-level playoff contender as the Edmonton Oilers make a visit to face the Florida Panthers. The Oilers enter off a loss in Tampa Bay, so to try and get a win at BB&T Center could prove tough as well. Florida didn’t have any answers for the Philadelphia Flyers in their last game, as they were blown off the ice 6-2. Edmonton has won 14 of the last 20 head-to-head meetings, and also six of the last 10. Florida got a blowout win early in the season when these teams met in Edmonton. The road hasn’t been the best place for the Oilers, but they are still playing better than the Panthers as of late. A play on the Edmonton money line is the right call.
Over Under Pick
Both the Oilers and Panthers have been established goal-scoring teams in the NHL. Edmonton is currently 14th in the league, while Florida has a top-five goal scoring average. The Panthers took down the Oilers 6-2 in their first meeting this season. They have combined for five total goals or more in their last four head-to-head meetings. Still, recent numbers have to be taken into account, and the Oilers are still without one of their top goal scorers as Connor McDavid is injured. Taking an under 6.5 goal total is the right move.
