Puck Line Pick
Detroit makes the trip to Nassau Coliseum for a duel with the New York Islanders. The Red Wings snapped their losing streak with a quite important victory over Montreal as they were able to secure a four-game season sweep. The Islanders have really struggled to produce in their last four games and because of that, they have lost four-straight games. Not the best situation to have when the league’s worst team comes to town. New York has won seven of the last 10 head-to-head meetings. When these teams last met, the Islanders cruised to a win, as the Red Wings had no answers. New York has won the last two meetings by three goals or more, so taking the Islanders on the puck line is a good move.
Over Under Pick
Recent meetings have been quite unpredictable between the Red Wings and Islanders. When they last met, which was in January, New York cruised to victory. They made sure Detroit wouldn’t forget it as they scored an 8-2 victory. That came after their first meeting was a 4-1 win for the Islanders. Scoring eight goals again isn’t likely for one team. Adding in both teams average well less than three goals per game. Taking an under 5.5 total with confidence is a must.
