Against the Spread Pick

The Denver Nuggets will be playing the second game of a back-to-back situation on Friday. That is not the main reason why the odds were still off as of late Thursday night. In addition to Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap being out with respective ankle and knee injuries, Garry Harris is questionable due to undisclosed personal reasons. Harris did not play on Friday, so the smart money is on him once again being sidelined. To say that is not good news with a road contest against the NBA-best Milwaukee Bucks would be a gross understatement. Milwaukee has won nine straight and reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is now less than even money to win a second consecutive MVP award. Denver is 3-7-2 ATS in its last 12 on the road against opponents with winning home records and 2-7 ATS in its last nine playing on no days of rest. The Bucks are 12-5-2 ATS in their last 19 playing on two days of rest. MILWAUKEE should be the play here.

Over Under Pick

Murray out, Millsap out, and Harris questionable is not exactly good news for Denver’s chance of putting the ball in the hoop with any consistency. On the bright side, the Nuggets are the No. 1 scoring defense in the Western Conference (105.9 ppg allowed). The under is 4-1 in the Nuggets’ last five overall, 4-0 in their last four on the road, and 11-5 in their last 16 against opponents with winning percentages over .600. It is 5-2-1 in the Bucks’ last eight on Fridays. Lean toward the UNDER.
