Against the Spread Pick
This is a definite letdown spot for Denver. They just went into Milwaukee and handed the Bucks a 12 point loss. That result is super impressive but even more so given the injuries the Nuggets are dealing with right now. Against Milwaukee, Nikola Jokic was an assist away from a triple-double and his numbers have been on the climb throughout January. He is able to do so many things well and with the talent around him a little reduced right now he is doing even more. Based on recent results we should not be expecting Detroit to put up too much of a fight. They have lost five in a row, all ATS losses too. Andre Drummond just put up 20/20, again, vs. Raptors but the game was not close. All of their losses on this run have been by at least 10 points. Another one seems in order. Denver has good depth. Back the Nuggets here.
Over Under Pick
The loss to Toronto broke up a string of five straight overs for Detroit. This is a team not blessed with much scoring so when they take on a team with a commitment to defense it does not take much to get them off their game. Denver is one of those. Playing at altitude helps half of the time but the Nuggets are solid on D and have to give it more mind with the injuries they have. Take the under.
