Against the Spread Pick
The Flyers had a couple of relatively close games last week but with recent losses by the likes of Gonzaga and San Diego State they have a chance to rise even higher. This looks like a trap spot because George Mason is not very good but I am not sure the Patriots have what it takes to beat them. Dayton has not faced GMU this season but as long as Obi Toppin and Co. go to work they should be just fine. George Mason is looking to be the next team to upset a Mid-Major darling. They did win their last game but have not had a significant season since they had that magical run. Junior guard Javon Greene is a nice player but he has the ball in his hands a lot and did not register an assist in their last game, a win. Against a team like Dayton you need a guy to really control things, not just look for his offense. There is not much size to bother Toppin in this matchup. Stay with the Flyers.
Over Under Pick
George Mason is not a high scoring team, averaging just 67ppg. That is about what they give up on defense too so that unit is in a little better shape. Dayton scores a lot and is one of the most efficient offensive teams around. Look for them to be able to get what they want. GMU will score enough late for the over to cash.
