Against the Spread Pick
This could be a game that merely determines which team is not a bad as the other one. Both the Cornell Big Red and the Dartmouth Big Green are 3-7 in the Ivy League heading into Friday’s contest. Dartmouth certainly wasn’t as bad as Cornell in their previous meeting on Feb. 15, when Dartmouth dominated 75-53. Aside from home-court swapping, there is no real reason to think much will change–especially if Jimmy Boeheim and Jordan Jones cannot go for the Big Red. Boeheim (ankle) and Jones (undisclosed) are both questionable. They are averaging a combined 24.6 points in 51.9 minutes per game. The Big Green are 4-0 ATS in their last four on the road following at least three consecutive home games. Cornell is 1-6 ATS in its last seven against opponents with losing records and 15-35-2 ATS in their last 52 following a win. It is also worth noting that the road team is 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 head-to-head matchups. Back DARTMOUTH with plenty of confidence.
Over Under Pick
If either Boeheim or Jones is out (especially Boeheim), Cornell will struggle. In the Big Red’s last three regulation games, the losing team has scored 63, 53, and 45 points. The under is 4-0-1 in the Big Green’s last five overall. It is also 15-5 in the Big Red’s last 20 at home, 5-2 in their last seven against opponents with losing records, and 10-1 in their last 11 at home against opponents with losing road records. Lean toward the UNDER.
