Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley has consented to become the new manager of Huddersfield Town, Sky Sports News knows.
After managing just 1 success from his 19 matches in control of the Yorkshire side jan Siewert left Huddersfield.
Following the German’s dismissal, Mark Hudson was called the Terriers’ interim supervisor and oversaw his Sky Bet Championship matches against Luton, Reading and Cardiff, which ended in beats.
After getting only 1 point huddersfield are second from bottom in the Championship table.
Cowley, that has been in charge of Lincoln to the past few years distanced himself from a move .
He explained:”For people, no sympathy to Huddersfield, who are an exceptional club and have had an remarkable period getting into the Premier League, however we have worked quite difficult at this soccer club over the years we have been here.
“Our team is at a great place, therefore for us to think about moving our families and ourselves out of this soccer club it might need to be the perfect chance.”
Cowley had previously admitted to holding talks with Huddersfield within the empty place, however, dismissed speculation he was going to take over as Sheffield Wednesday boss, before Garry Monk’s recent consultation at Hillsborough.
He’s set to leave Sincil Bank after handling 176 games for Lincoln, overseeing the club’s advertising in back to the Football League in 2017.
The former Imps boss also guided his team into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at the 2016/17 effort when Lincoln were in the National League, beating Burnley, Ipswich and Brighton at the process.
Cowley’s negative were crowned League Two winners last semester, winning the division by a margin.
His first match in charge will be against Sheffield Wednesday in the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Football from 11.30am; kick-off 12pm.
