Wales manager Ryan Giggs says Daniel James’ development will help alleviate the strain on superstar Gareth Bale.
Wales take on Azerbaijan at a European Qualifier on Friday at Cardiff City Stadium, live on Sky Sports Premier League, having lost their last two games of the effort from Croatia and Hungary
While Bale scored for Real Madrid on Sunday Villarreal james has scored three goals in four Premier League games since his move to Manchester United out of Swansea this summer.
Giggs is expecting James’ form can help take the load off Wales’ record goalscorer going.
“They’re both playing are in great form, both are not scoring. I think they are both looking forward to being included in the game,” he explained.
“Dan has got off to a excellent beginning to his Manchester United career but also he has been fantastic for us in the past few games – especially during the summertime under tough conditions.
“It’s not just about Gareth. Obviously with what the abilities he’s got have been performed, by Gareth, spotlight and the strain is on him.
“I need to draw that pressure off him, we can’t rely upon him in every game. We’ve got other ability in the squad.”
After his first four appearances but Giggs insists he is not surprised with the rapid growth of the winger at Old Trafford under Gunnar Solskjaer, james, 21, is currently United’s best scorer in the Premier League.
The former United gamers considers the management at United will help James fulfil his entire potential while helping him maintain his”feet to the ground”.
“I haven’t been surprised since he had a great pre-season, when you register for a new club that is what you need,” he continued.
“He has played almost every game and if you score, or return on and score, that provides you with a lift.
“It isn’t important when you are in the world or what type of ability you have, confidence is all about, assurance builds. Most of us know about what he’s capable of, and what he has done particularly over the last eight or nine months. He just gets better and better.
“He’s in the ideal club. Ole will look in the way that is right after him, he’ll know when to perform him. So no, I am not surprised. It is a club which enjoys wingers, they love players. I’m pleased he won’t get taken away, he’s that type of character.
“He’s really down to earth and he is at the ideal club about maintaining his feet on the floor “
