Against The Spread Pick

The Colorado State Rams travel to Las Vegas tonight to take on the UNLV Rebels, in what looks like will be a runaway game for the Rams. This Mountain West Conference match sees an 18-9 CSU team go up against a 13-14 UNLV team that is 2-3 in their last five games, including a 95-77 loss to this same CSU team just two weeks ago. Despite nearly identical team stats in points per game, points against per game, rebounds, and field goal percentage, Colorado State has been a far superior team this season. Colorado State is a respectable 9-5 in conference play compared to UNLV, who is 6-8 in conference. Both teams are around .500 against the spread this season, however, the skill gap between the two teams, combined with the tight spread tonight, is going to be too much for UNLV to overcome. Take Colorado State tonight.

Over Under Pick

CSU and UNLV have been averaging 83 points and 71 points per game respectively over each of their last five games. Both teams are in the bottom half of the Mountain West defensively, and in their last match against each other, both teams had above average scoring performances, having a total combined score of 172. With four players on UNLV averaging over 10 points per game, and four on CSU as well, combined with the lackluster defensive stats from both teams, we are in for a big scoring night from these two teams. Especially since CSU has had some big scoring over their last five games, taking the over is the right choice tonight.
