Money Line Pick
The Blackhawks looked like they had played their way back into playoff contention. However, they have struggled over their previous five games going 1-2-2, which has dropped their record to 25-22-8, putting them in 7th place in the Central Division. They will look to snap their current three-game losing streak when they travel to take on the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Oilers are one of the better teams in the NHL with a record of 29-20-6 and 64 points, which ties the Golden Knights for 2nd place in the Pacific Division. Edmonton ended their two-game losing streak on Saturday following a 3-2 win at home over the Nashville Predators. Chicago has won 14 of the last 20 games in the series. Despite being slight underdogs, the Blackhawks are one of my favorite plays on Tuesday.
Over Under Pick
Edmonton has been a slightly above-average team offensively this season, ranking 13th in goals per game with 3.20 goals per game. However, they have been inconsistent defensively, allowing 3.15 goals per game. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks enter this game, averaging 2.96 goals per game, which ranks 19th in the NHL. Defensively, Chicago has also struggled, as they are allowing 3.15 goals per game. With both teams being below-average defensively and the over hitting in seven of the previous nine in the series when played in Edmonton, I look for the over six goals to be the winning side in this match-up.
