Against the Spread Pick

LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) is doubtful for the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday; P.J. Washington (ankle) is questionable for the Charlotte Hornets. That is probably why the odds were still off as of late Friday night. Check back later for the line, but you have to feel good about San Antonio’s chances even though Aldridge is most likely sidelined. That has more to do with the Hornets than it does with the Spurs. Charlotte is a horrendous 1-9 in its past 10 games and the only team it has defeated since Jan. 4 is New York. Charlotte is 1-4 ATS in its last five on the road against opponents with winning home records and 3-9 ATS in its last 12 trips to San Antonio. The Spurs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. SAN ANTONIO should be the way to go.

Over Under Pick

Charlotte has been held below the century mark in five of its past eight outings. Aldridge’s absence will hurt San Antonio especially because only one other player (DeMar DeRozan) is averaging more than 11.8 ppg. The under is 4-1 in the Hornets’ last five overall. It is also 5-1 in the Spurs’ last six against opponents with losing records and 10-4 in their last 14 playing on two days of rest. Additionally, the under is 6-2 in Charlotte’s last eight at San Antonio. Take the UNDER.
