Against the Spread Pick
Don’t look now, but the Chippewas are one of the teams to beat in the Mid-American Conference. Following an underwhelming 7-6 out-of-conference start to the year, Central Michigan has since gone 6-2 against their MAC foes, including three-straight wins. Their 2-7 away record is certainly cause for concern, but from a betting perspective, they’re a respectable 5-4 against the spread playing away from their campus. Despite all of these positive trends, Central Michigan finds themselves as underdogs on Friday. Why? Well, it may have to do with Buffalo’s 7-5 record… maybe? Or perhaps it’s because of the Bulls’ 4-6-1 record against the spread when playing on their own campus. Clearly, there’s not a whole lot pointing in Buffalo’s direction. The team is only 5-5 in conference play this season, and they’re 1-4 over their last four (although that stretch was preceded by a four-game winning streak). Even if Central Michigan was favored in this matchup, we’d take them. The fact that they have points on their side is all the reason we need to opt for the Chippewas against the spread.
Over Under Pick
The total has gone under in five of Central Michigan’s last seven games, and its gone under in six of Buffalo’s last seven. We’re riding both those trends and taking the under on Friday.
