Puck Line Pick
The optimist would point to the Golden Knights’ recent 3-1 stretch (plus the fact that they’re playing at home) and pick them as winners on Saturday. It’s more fun being the pessimist, and we have plenty of reasons to pick apart Las Vegas. For starters, while their recent stretch is encouraging, they’re only 4-6-1 since January 7th. They also have an underwhelming 14-10-3 home record that’s even worse against the spread (14-10-3). Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have won four of their last six games, and they’re 7-4-1 since January 7th. Best of all, Carolina is a solid 13-11-2 on the road, and their 11-15 away record against the spread is solid for a middle-of-the-road squad. Plus, while Carolina dropped their matchup against Las Vegas last week, a late goal ultimately determined the winner. Clearly, we’re not buying into Las Vegas right now. We’re going to opt for the Hurricanes puck line on Saturday night.
Over Under Pick
The total has gone over in four of Carolina’s last five games and five of Las Vegas’ last six. We expect that to continue on Saturday, so we’re taking the over.
