Against The Spread Pick
It is hard to see a scenario where Cal stays competitive in this one. However, nobody saw an upset against Stanford coming from them yesterday either. UCLA, however, is different. They are playing their best basketball of the season having won 11 of its final 14 games in the Pac-12, including seven of their last eight regular season games. No numbers immediately jump off the page for either team. The last matchup between these two was decided by a tune of double digits. UCLA is only allowing 67 points per game and I think we should see them lockdown a fatigued Cal offense. Take UCLA with the points in this one.
Over Under Pick
The Bruins are notorious for playing slow and methodical offense. UCLA ranks 325th in the nation in adjusted tempo and 312th in average possession length on offense. California is very familiar with this as well and also ranks near the bottom of the country in pace, coming in at 315th in tempo and 325th in possessions. I am expecting this one to be a very slow game that doesn’t see much scoring, much like their last matchup which saw only a total of 90. In their last eight games, UCLA held opponents to 64 points or fewer six times. The total has gone under in 7 of UCLA’s last 9 games against California. Take the under in this one.
