Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation after the expulsion in the EFL of the club.
His League One status was lost by the team following C&N Sporting Risk pulled from a planned takeover.
In a short statement, the Greater Manchester force said:”About 18 June 2019, police received a report of fraud between Bury Football Club. No arrests are made and they’re continuing.”
Sky Sports News understands this investigation isn’t in regard to the present whoever owns Steve Dale.
This report was made just one month before Dale reached a company voluntary agreement with the creditors of the club to reimburse 25 percent of the #9m that they were owed.
But that deal depended on the team being allowed to perform this year, something the English Soccer League, concerned about Dale’s capacity to fund the prices of the team and those debts, refused to sanction.
This resulted in Dale missing several deadlines to prove he can satisfy his obligations sell the club to someone who could. The EFL expelled Bury in the league and ran out of inspiration Tuesday.
No arrests have been made so far.
