Money Line Pick
A pair of Atlantic Divison basement dwellers look to just better themselves towards next season, as the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators take to the ice at Canadian Tire Centre. The Sabres have built up a little momentum with three-straight wins, including a pair of victories over two teams who are still in the hunt for the playoffs. Ottawa hasn’t played that terrible lately, with two wins in their last three games. The road has proved difficult for the Sabres, as they are 5-15 in their last 20 games away from home. The Senators have won four of the last five head-to-heads against the Sabres at the Canadian Tire Centre. It will prove hard to replicate for Ottawa, but with the Sabres well-documented road struggles, taking the Senators on the money line at home is the right play.
Over Under Pick
The Sabres have scored at least three goals in five of their last six games. On the flipside the Senators are coming off a tough battle against Dallas, that saw Ottawa sneak out with a 4-3 victory. That result was the second game in a row for the Senators that resulted in a six-goal or more total. Ottawa, however, has leaned heavily on the under in six of their last eight games. The under has also been a better play in 13 of the last 20 head-to-head meetings between the Sabres and Senators. An under six-goal total is the right call.
