Against The Spread Pick
The Patriot League Championship will see Colgate and Boston battle for an automatic bid to the Big Dance. The Raiders will have the advantage of home court since that is how this conference operates their tournament. Colgate is 15-1 at home this season, so that will certainly help them in trying to secure this title. Also, the Raiders have had an easy time through the Patriot tournament so far, winning by double-digits in both their games. Boston University on the other hand, won by only six points and three points in their two games, so clearly they struggled a little more. In two meetings this season, Colgate beat Boston without much trouble, winning by 16 on the road and nine at home. The Raiders are also 10-5 ATS at home this season, while Boston is 8-10 ATS away from home. The Terriers are also 0-6 ATS in their last six games. Laying nearly seven points is a little steep in a championship game, but Colgate has been several steps ahead of the rest of this conference all season, so I will lay the points with the Raiders.
Over Under Pick
I do not like this total as much because Boston is not a team that can be trusted. In two Patriot League tournament games, the Terriers have scored just 66.5 points per game. This is compared to Colgate, who has averaged 86 points in two games. The good news is that the Boston defense has been more than solid, allowing 60 points on average through the quarterfinals and semifinals. The bad news is they allowed 79 points to Colgate in both regular season meetings. Colgate has seen both their conference tournament games go over the total and because they are playing at home again, I lean to the over here as well.
