Against The Spread Pick
Boston College heads to Virginia trying to keep its tournament hopes alive after beating NCST at home. Virginia is surging winning five of its last six and having another typical Virginia season having the second best defense in the country only allowing 52 points per game with one of the worst offenses that only averages 56 points per game. The Golden Eagles are not much better on offense only averaging 64.8 and shooting around 40 percent. Both teams best offensive push comes from Seniors averaging 13 points, Diakite for Virginia and Thornton for BC. Virginia is only 6-13-1 ATS in their last twenty and 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games. Boston has been good ATS recently going 4-1 in their last five and 6-2 in their last eight. These teams play very similar and this should be a defensive shootout which is why I think 11 is just too much to give. I like Boston College to cover.
Over Under Pick
The total set for this one is a bit of an over-exaggeration. While both of the teams have bad offenses they have been playing well recently. Both teams feature players who can shoot beyond the arc. Boston College needs to keep winning to make the tournament and has even given Duke a game earlier this year. The over is 4-2 in Virginia’s last six. The Golden Eagles have also been on overs as of late seeing four of their last five go over and six of its last ten road games go over. Back the over.
