Against The Spread Pick
What a horrible basketball game we have in store for us on Wednesday night. Two of the absolute worst teams in the league will go head to head for the second time this season. The Hawks may have less wins, but it is the Timberwolves who are playing much worse right now. Minnesota is in the midst of a 12-game losing streak. They have not won a game in close to a month. Note that the underdog is 7-1-1 in the last nine head to head meetings. Trae Young and Kevin Huerter are both probable for this game, which is a big part of what the Hawks want to do. Until Minnesota wins a game, they are a fade. That said, I will take the points with Atlanta.
Over Under Pick
I really do not love this total because of the question marks surrounding Atlanta’s lineup. As mentioned before, Young and Huerter are likely to play, but De’Andre Hunter is questionable and Cam Reddish is out. That means the Hawks really do not have a ton of scoring options. The Timberwolves’ defense might be bad, but they should be able to contain Atlanta enough to keep around their season average. Note that the under is 6-2 in Minnesota’s last eight games as a favorite and I look for this one to sneak under the total as a lean.
